An individual native to Maradhoo district of Addu City has seemingly committed suicide. 

RaajjeMV understands that the individual is a man named Irusad Mohamed. 

Irusad was found after midnight, and seemingly had hanged himself in his home.

The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that the suicide was reported to them at around 12:08 am on Friday and officers are investigating the incident. 

However, the police have yet to officially declare Irusad’s death a suicide. 

“This is an ongoing investigation and it is impossible to provide a detailed comment at this time” the official told RaajjeMV. 

Irusad had reportedly been seen as late as 10:00 pm on Thursday.
