A summary of events in the 'Ocean & Climate Youth Ambassador Program' that was initiated during the Ocean Conference, June 2017
Barcelona was one of the cities out of seven that the program was set to achieve. in Barcelona, among many plastic wastes that gets accumulated in the beaches are also of the Olympics game that was held in Barcelona in 1992.
Group photo taken in United Nations Headquarters in New York, which was the 7th and last stop of the program. The youth ambassadors addressed the issues of climate change of their respective countries to the United Nations.
Europe is currently leading on investment for clean energy.
The youth climate and ocean ambassadors visited the Scottish Parliament where introduction of the program and of the ambassadors were shared. A survivor of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bomb shared her testimony to the ambassadors and parliamentarians.
Guest lectures from Christiana Figueres (Former Executive Secretary for UNFCCC) was part of the many activities that were held at Peace Boat. Ms Figueres was one of the leading heads during the Paris Agreement.
The seven youth ambassadors consisted of lawyers, volunteers, activists and artists who have worked towards creating awareness in the context of climate change in their respective countries.
The "The Last Paradise" photo collection was exhibited in London and New York. Raajje TV's photographer Ashwa Faheem represented the Maldives in this program.
The 'Peace Boat' is a cruise ship operated under a non-profit organisation of the same name, which works towards achievement of the sustainable development goals, climate action, human rights and elimination of nuclear waste.
