Renowned Muslim scholar and motivational speaker Sheikh Ismail Ibn Musa Menk, 43, largely known as Mufti Menk, has arrived in the Maldives.
He arrived in the archipelago nation on Tuesday, and was welcomed by Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Zahir at Velana International Airport.
A number of activities have been planned for the world-renowned scholar’s trip, including sermons in capital Malé City as well as Addu and Kulhuduffushi cities.
His first sermon titled “religious rehabilitation” will be in the capital, on Tuesday night.
Menk, who is also the grand mufti of Zimbabwe, will then travel to southernmost Addu City where he has a sermon scheduled for Wednesday night.
He is to then head to Kulhudhuffushi City for the sermon set for Thursday night.
While he is travel to Malé afterwards, he is to give a special sermon after Friday prayers.
Mufti Menk was named one of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan, in 2014 and 2017.
