SDFC launches targeted financing scheme for content creators and filmmakers
Applications for the financing are now being accepted through the SME Portal on SDFC’s official website at www.sdfc.mv.

The SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has introduced a new financing program aimed specifically at content creators and film producers in the Maldives. This initiative is designed to support professionals in the creative sector by providing financial assistance of up to MVR 500,000.

The program offers unsecured loans of up to MVR 150,000, while larger amounts of up to MVR 500,000 are available with collateral. With a profit rate of 9.5 percent per annum, the financing comes with flexible repayment options spread over five years, including a grace period of up to six months.

The facility is intended to help digital creators, influencers, filmmakers, and videographers scale their operations. Eligible uses include the purchase of equipment, production-related expenses, and other costs associated with growing creative ventures.

By launching this scheme, SDFC aims to promote the growth of the creative economy in the Maldives, providing essential financial tools for creative entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses. The move reflects growing recognition of the economic potential of the creative industries, particularly among young Maldivians.

Applications for the financing are now being accepted through the SME Portal on SDFC’s official website.
