After concluding a fruitful state visit to the Maldives, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, following the conclusion of his brief visit to the Maldives, the Indian PM expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the government and people of Maldives for their warm hospitality.
PM Modi highlighted that he deeply honored to have witnessed the 60th Independence Day celebrations and that the productive talks with President Muizzu will add significant energy to the bilateral relations between the neighboring countries.

The Indian PM arrived in the Maldives on Friday morning, at the invitation of the Maldivian president.
During the trip, in a meeting between the two leaders, a signing ceremony for several key Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) was held, covering six important areas including fisheries and aquaculture, climate change, digital public infrastructure, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Indian Pharmacopoeia, and a new concessional line of credit.
During the Indian Prime Minister's visit, a line of credit of approximately USD 550 million ars was arranged for the Maldives' infrastructure development and related projects.
