The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard Dhoshimeyna Building, developed into a 10-story structure with India's assistance, has been unveiled.

The MNDF Dhoshimeyna Building was opened during a ceremony held on Friday, attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Mohamed Muizzu as part of PM Modi’s ongoing state visit to the island nation.

Modi arrived in the Maldives on Friday morning for a two-day visit. In addition to the 10-story Dhoshimeyna Building, the completion of some projects initiated by India in the Maldives was also marked.

Speaking after official discussions between the Maldives and India held at the President's Office on Friday, Modi said that India will always provide assistance to the Maldives, as it has done in the past.

Modi visited the Maldives at the invitation of President Muizzu to participate as the guest of honor in the ceremony to be held on July 26 to mark the Maldives' 60th Independence Day.
