The number of tourist accommodation establishments operational across the Maldives, has risen.

This was revealed by the latest daily statistics publicized by the Ministry of Tourism on Monday.

As such, the ministry’s figures revealed that as of April 27, the number of operational tourist accommodation facilities across the Maldives sat at 1,167. The guesthouses span across 108 islands of 20 atolls, with hotels operational on nine islands of eight atolls and resorts operational across 172 islands of 19 atolls. 68 percent of the bed capacity is occupied by resorts, followed by 23 percent occupied by guesthouses, five percent by liveaboard vessels, and four percent by hotels.

Presently, a total of 61,647 tourist beds are in operation across these facilities, which include 170 resorts, 822 guesthouses, 16 hotels, and 157 live-aboard vessels.

The beds operational across these facilities include 42,085 in resorts, 2,310 in hotels, 14,072 in guesthouses, and 3,180 in live-aboard vessels.

According to the latest weekly statistics by the tourism ministry, tourist facilities currently in operation are:

Two resorts and 21 guesthouses across islands of Haa Alif atoll,
Two resorts, one hotel and 13 guesthouses across islands of Haa Dhaal atoll,
17 resorts, one hotel and seven guesthouses across islands of Raa atoll,
16 resorts, one hotel and 69 guesthouses across islands of Baa atoll,
12 resorts and 145 guesthouses across islands of Alif Alif atoll,
16 resorts, one hotel and 99 guesthouses across islands of Alif Dhaal atoll,
One resort and seven guesthouses across islands of Faafu atoll,
Nine resorts and eight guesthouses across islands of Dhaalu atoll,
One resort and nine guesthouses across islands of Thaa atoll,
Two resorts and 10 guesthouses across islands of Gaaf Dhaal atoll,
Two resorts and eight guesthouses across islands of Shaviyani atoll,
Eight resorts and 13 guesthouses across islands of Noonu atoll,
11 resorts and three guesthouses across islands of Lhaviyani atoll,
58 resorts, eight hotels and 292 guesthouses across islands of Kaafu atoll,
Five resorts, one hotel and 53 guesthouses across islands of Vaavu atoll,
