A youth has died in a fatal accident on Addu City Bridge.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the report of the fatal crash was received by the institution on Wednesday.

The accident was reported to the police institution at around 09:49am.

The person who died in this accident has been identified as Leevan Abdul Sattar, 24 of G. Night Dream in capital Malé City.

According to initial findings, MPS noted that the accident occurred when a speeding motorcycle lost control and collided with a bridge fence.

Sharing more information regarding the fatal collision, the police institution highlighted that the accident occurred when the motorcycle went out of control at the bridge's turning point on the road from Maradhoo to Hithadhoo, causing it to crash into the fence.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the fatal accident.
