Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer is headed to the Kingdom of Bahrain on an official visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday revealed that FM Zameer departed from Velana International Airport (VIA) and is accompanied by a delegation including Ambassador-at-Large Ahmed Naseer, Secretary Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed, Joint Secretary Mariyam Reesha and Assistant Director Mizna Waheed.
He will conclude his trip and return home on August 15.
The Maldivian minister’s visit comes upon the official invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’ before his departure, FM Zameer expressed enthusiasm to meet his Bahraini counterpart as well as other senior officials of the government of Bahrain, where he will engage in constructive discussions to further strengthen the existing strong ties of friendship between Maldives and Bahrain.
As part of the visit, FM Zameer will sit down for high-level talks with Bahraini officials and review the longstanding bilateral relations between both countries.
He will also be exploring avenues for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Some of the senior officials of the government of Bahrain FM Zameer will be calling upon include the Minister of Finance and National Economy, the Minister of Oil and Environment and the Minister of Tourism, where discussions will revolve around exploring opportunities to enhance collaboration in multiple sectors.
Maldives and Bahrain marked 44 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, this year.
