Two individuals in possession of a large quantity of alcohol, have been arrested.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the two individuals were arrested from Hulhumalé Phase I.

Officers stationed in Hulhumalé Phase I were patrolling the streets when they came across a speeding pickup, close to 8pm on Monday.

After stopping the vehicle, officers raided it upon noticing suspicious behavior from the two individuals inside.

Officers confiscated 150 bottles of alcohol and bundles of cash inside the boxes the vehicle was carrying.

Arrested in connection with the case were two Bangladeshi men.

Further investigations are currently underway.
