10 fans were stolen from Eid Mosque in the capital Malé City during the concluding month alone.

This was revealed by the Malé City Council via a post on social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday.

The city council revealed that they are currently working to submit CCTV footage to the Maldives Police Service (MPS) for investigation.

Over the course of just 21 days, 10 fans were stolen from the mosque according to the council.

The council is currently in the process of collecting the mosque’s CCTV footage and filing a police complaint.

It has been observed that the number of thefts and various types of crimes in the capital region has been on the rise.

The city council went on to urge the public not to steal from mosques or damage property.
