The site of the shore protection project in Himandhoo island of Alif Alif atoll has been mobilized.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday.
As such, taking to social media platform ‘X’ to provide the latest updates of the Himandhoo shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that the project site was mobilized on 30 April 2024.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct beach nourishment operations in an area measuring 43,200 cubic meters.
Further, the project entails the construction of a rock boulder revetment measuring 110 meters.
MTCC will also be building a 235-meter geobag revetment and a rock boulder groyne measuring 240 meters.
A 20-meter geobag groyne will also be installed.
The Himandhoo shore protection project is valued at MVR 24.54 million.
