A new member has been appointed to the Judicial Service Commission.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed Mohamed Sameer as a member of JSC on Thursday.

Sameer was appointed as a member to the JSC by President Muizzu in accordance with Article 158 (h) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Article 3 (8) of the Judicial Service Commission Act.

Sameer was presented with his Letter of Appointment during a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Thursday.

Supreme Court Justice Aisha Shujoon Mohamed administered the new appointee’s oath of office at the ceremony.

Positions Sameer earlier filled include Public Prosecutor at the Prosecutor General's Office, a Senior Associate at Nasheed & Co as well as Managing Partner at Sameer & Shamam LLP.
