The project site for the harbor development project in Huraa island of Kaafu atoll, has been mobilized.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday.

As such, providing the latest update of the Huraa harbor development project via Twitter, MTCC revealed that they mobilized the project site on August 15.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct maintenance dredging operations in an area measuring 26,453 cubic meters.

MTCC will also conduct new harbor basin dredging operations in an area spanning 40,111 cubic meters and channel dredging operations in an area measuring 5,445 cubic meters.

In addition to this, MTCC will be constructing a breakwater measuring 86 meters, a 317-meter sand-filled breakwater for the outer revetment, a 210-meter revetment and a quay wall measuring 176 meters.

The construction of a scour apron, a concrete bridge measuring 20 meters by six meters and a concrete jetty measuring 105 meters by four meters also come under the contract.

A harbor pavement measuring 1,795 square meters will also be installed alongside harbor lights and mooring buoys.

The Huraa harbor development project is valued at MVR 62.78 million.
