The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a statement, on behalf of the Maldivian Government, condemning the terrorist attacks on oil facilities and civilian areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 25th and 26th March 2022.

The Government of Maldives stated that the continuation of such acts of terrorism towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, negatively impact the efforts by the concerned parties and the international community to find peaceful solutions to conflicts in the region.

Reiterating the Maldives' steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, the Government of Maldives reaffirmed its solidarity with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Government had preciously described the attacks as cowardly acts of terrorism and stated that they clearly violate international law and threaten the security of the Kingdom and the region. They also highlighted that these attacks hinder global energy supplies.
