The issue of how booths have been set up

Some observers and representatives have said that some voters are losing the secrecy of their votes because of how the polling stations are placed at some regions.

In consultation with the advisory committee, the officials have changed the way the booth was set up earlier with the consensus of the members of the advisory committee, according to the Elections Commission.

When such a consensus came, the commission members found it right to change the way the booth was set up.

Issues in the voting process at Rasdhoo, Thulhaadhoo and Guraidhoo

Two officials at the two polling booths in Rasdhoo island of Alif Alif atoll were let go for violating the order. Polling resumed after other officials were recruited to replace them.

The voting process was temporarily halted in Thulhaadhoo island of Baa atoll, after receiving information that a person who had come to cast his vote had taken a photo. Voting will resume soon.

There has been a problem of people living at the Special Needs Center not being able to vote, in Guraidhoo island of Kaafu atoll. However, they will be allowed to cast their ballots if registered. Voters may only seek the assistance of a helper in accordance with the regulations, if they are unable to use both hands, those who are visually impaired, and elders who are unable to mark the vote by themselves.
