MP Saud meets with President Nasheed

Vilingili Constituency MP Saud Hussain has met former President Mohamed Nasheed in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This is the first time the Parliamentarian had met the former President.

The Parliamentarian, who recently defected to the Maumoon faction of Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM), tweeted that they had “discussed about political situation in Maldives and national issues”.

The Ethics Committee of the Yameen faction reviewed Saud’s case and he was dismissed by the unanimous vote of the five-member Committee. Both Saud and PPM’s elected President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom had stated that the decision was unacceptable.

Following his alliance with the opposition some of Saud’s relatives has also been dismissed from their Government positions.
