Kimbidhoo Constituency MP Abdullah Riyaz has submitted in a formal request to Finance Minister Ahmed Munawwar via Parliament over the delay in handing over the increased allowances of Police officers, pledged in January this year.
The formal notice sent in Sunday said that the Government had taken the decision to increase allowance in January 2017 and questioned why that decision was not implemented.
Riyaz, a former Commissioner of Police, had raised the same question both on Parliament floor and on his twitter account as well. He had served in Police for many years prior to retirement and entry into politics.
