State suffers MVR three mil loss, following 11% drop in exports

State revenue has suffered a MVR three million loss following an 11% fall in exports in the month of November.
According to the statistics publicized by Maldives Customs Service, MVR 405 million worth of goods were exported in the month of November this year whereas MVR 454 million worth of goods were exported in the same period last year.
While the total collected in import duty has reached a total of MVR 4.3 billion, this includes MVR 819 million in imports from U.A.E, MVR 616 million in imports from China, and MVR 510 million in imports from India.
The statistics further show the most number of exports were to Thailand with 51% of Maldivian goods being exported to the country.
