Health Protection Agency (HPA) has issued an advisory warning following increased reports of vomiting with diarrhea.

HPA advises individuals experiencing loose motion more than three times within 24 hours to take precautionary measures for the safety of the afflicted and the community.

HPA recommends the afflicted to drink large amounts of O.R.S mixture alongside soup and coconut water to help replace the fluids lost due to diarrhea. Moreover, the strongly advise vigilant hand washing before and after changing the diapers of infants, eating or preparing food.

HPA also suggests boiling drinking water before use and ensuring that all food is covered and protected from exposure to houseflies.

As such, they appeal to the afflicted to consult a doctor if the symptoms last more than three days. Furthermore, afflicted children are advised to refrain from attending school and adults from attending to work for at least two days after symptoms of diarrhea subside.

HPA has also appealed for the afflicted to avoid going to public spaces as much as possible.
