The government has generated MVR 286 million in revenue according to statistics released by Maldives Customs Service.
The statistics show MVR 262 million was generated in import-export revenue during September of last year, and this year's revenue has risen by nine percent bringing the figure up to MVR 286 million in import-export revenue.
A further look at F.O.B prices show goods worth 136 million were exported by September last year whereas this year that figure is at 166 million worth of goods. This an increase of 22 percent. Looking at the C.I.F. prices, goods worth 3.7 billion were exported by September last year whilst goods worth 3.8 billion were exported this year.
Countries that have frequently imported goods to the Maldives in the past month include the United Arab Emirates, China, and India. In the past month, UAE has imported seven hundred and twenty million rufiyaa worth of goods, China has imported goods worth seven hundred and three million rufiyaa and India has imported goods worth three hundred and seventy rufiyaa.
