The Vice President with members of the Kandoodhoo Council - Presidents Office

Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with members of Kandoodhoo Island Council on Sunday at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, members of Kandoodhoo Council shared concerns about the most pertinent issues and urgent needs faced by the residents of the island.

The council members discussed upgrading the island’s powerhouse and the electricity network and, since Kandoodhoo is an agricultural island, they also shared concerns raised by the farmers of the island.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem said that action will be taken after discussing with the relevant ministries to address the specific issues and concerns raised by the council.

Highlighting the administration’s proposed amendments to the Decentralisation Act, the Vice President further urged the council to assume more responsibilities with steps to address the issues and concerns of the residents of the island.
