A Maldivian Hajj pilgrim has fallen into a coma.

RaajjeMV understands that the pilgrim is Seema Moosa, a 39-year-old woman from F Dharanboodhoo.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, Hajj Corporation Chairman Mohamed Kinaanath said that she was in Mina when she felt dizziness and later fell unconscious after vomiting in a toilet.

The chairman said she was taken to a neurologist and underwent a CT scan, and that doctors had said that she suffered internal bleeding due to the fall. She is currently on ventilator support in the ICU.

The chairman said she did not have any illnesses, except diabetes, and cited doctors saying that she is now brain dead.

Maldives received a quota of 2,000 for this year’s Hajj.

The agencies permitted to handle the pilgrimage trips are Maldives Hajj Corporation, Zaee Group, Tazkiya, Al Hajj & Umrah Group, Mina Hajj & Umrah, and Acro Hajj and Umrah.
