A detainee at Maafushi Prison has assaulted a prison officer.
Correctional service did not disclose details but stated that the officer has been brought to Male' for further medical treatment.
They stated that they found the weapons used in the attack and that the prison is under control.
Regarding this, Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM) said they are investigating the incident.
