Telecommunications giant Dhiraagu has launched Wi-Fi hotspots in 15 areas in Male’ City.
The hotspots were launched at an event at Sultan Park on Sunday.
Speaking at the event, Male’ City Mayor Shifa Mohamed said she is pleased to see the launching of the service and praised Dhiraagu for always providing the latest technology to Maldivians.
At the event, Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed said that the hotspots are part of their digital campus initiative and that the company aims to provide easier access to the internet.
Dhiraagu has stated that the hotspots are marked by an orange light box and that people can access a hotspot via their phone and submit their number the service to receive an automatic voucher number.
Each person will have access to 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi with speeds up to 100mb. After their usage reaches the limit, Dhiraagu customers can continue using the service by purchasing an add-on.
