Perpetrators in Feydhoo assault will be brought to justice: Minister

Prepetrators in the assault of a woman in Sh. Feydhoo will be brought to justice, assures Gender Minister Shidhatha Shareef.

The assault reportedly occurred on Monday night and photos of the woman tied to a lamppost with a bag over her head has been circulating on social media.

RaajjeMV understands that the victim, who suffers from a mental illness, is married with five children and that she and her family live in Feydhoo.

While a team from the Gender Ministry is now in the island to investigate, the assailants and the motive behind the assault is not yet known.

In a tweet, Minister Shidhatha said that the government has provided her with protection after receiving report of the incident and that they are now working to find the assailants.
