The State Trading Organisation (STO) has lifted prices of fuel and diesel.

Retail prices for petrol have been increased by 70 laari, while diesel prices have been increased by 50 laari.

A litre of petrol will now be sold at STO’s ‘EasyFill’ stations for MVR 11.49 while a litre of diesel will be sold at MVR 12.11.

Prior to this, a litre of petrol went for MVR 10.79, while a litre of diesel went for MVR 11.61.

The state-run company said that the price hikes were caused by limited OPEC production.

STO, which acquires refined oil only, said that prices will be lowered as soon as possible.
