Heena Waleed appointed PNC spokesperson

Heena Waleed has been appointed spokesperson of People’s National Congress (PNC).

Heena is also a member of PNC’s negotiations council.

After confirming her appointment, she told RaajjeMV that she had previously been a council member of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), PNC’s coalition partner.

Heena is an experienced journalist and had filled senior positions in Television Maldives, including as deputy editor and news executive editor. She was also a political director at the foreign ministry.

She vied for the Dhiggaru seat in the last parliamentary election with PNC’s ticket, but failed to get elected.
