Maldives\' national team for the Asian Athletics Championship
Athletics Association has announced the Maldives national team that will be competing in the 2019 Asian Athletics Championship.
Athletics Association stated that participating in the championship will prepare the Maldivian athletes for the Indian Ocean Games, which is to be held in July.
The national team includes athletes Hassan Saaid, Ibrahim Ashfan Ali, Nujoom Hassan, Hussain Fazeel Haroon, Sarees Ahmed, Ibadulla Adam, and Hussain Riza.
Saaid and Sarees will be participating in the 100m, 4x100m, and 4x400m. Ashfan and Ibadulla will be participating in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m. Nujoom will be participating in the 4x100m, and 4x400m. Fazeel will be joining the 5000m, and 10000m, and Riza will be participating in the 800m, 1500m, and 4x400m.
Alagawadi Shivananda is the coach for the middle and long run, Ahmed Faail is the sprint coach, and Mohamed Amir is the team leader.
