Midfielder Hussain ‘Nihart’ Nihan, who played for the national team, has signed a three-year contract with Maziya Sports and Recreation. 

This was made official in an event on Wednesday, where Maziya gave their midfielder his kit, and said they were ‘delighted to have Nihan on board’. 

Nihan has played for three major local clubs; having kicked off his career in 2012 with Club Eagles, before playing for Valencia, and most recently for Victory. 

Nihan also played in the national squad that in 2018 won Maldives its second SAFF Champion title.

The Football Association of Maldives says that the next season will begin in June.
