Fenaka will no longer be 'a campaign site': MD

Fenaka Corporation will no longer be a campaign site, says Managing Director Ahmed Saeed Mohamed.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s Fashaairu show on Sunday, Saeed said that the role of the utilities company in maintaining the government’s policies 'is high' and that Fenaka will no longer be used 'for political campaigns.'

Saeed said this in relation to how Fenaka employees and resources were used for political activities during former President Abdulla Yameen’s administration.

Because Fenaka provides essential services to the public, Saeed said that it was important for the company to maintain the government’s policies but added that it does not have to be a campaign site to do so.

He said that employees with different political opinions is not an issue but that will take steps against those who are negligent in providing their services. He also said that it was important to stop the practice of pressuring or dismissing employees for political reasons and using Fenaka for political purposes and exposing the company to such corrupt practices.

This was the first time Fenaka MD spoke to the media since being appointed on December 16.
