Home Minister Imran Abdulla has been appointed as President of Local Government Authority (LGA).
On Sunday, the Ministry stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has given Minister Imran the responsibility to answer to the parliament on behalf of LGA.
According to law, the President is tasked with picking a member of his cabinet for the position of LGA chief.
LGA has five members. They are: a member appointed by the President, a member from the civil sector, a member with experience in the field of governance of public administration, a female member from the field of gender equality, and LGA’s chief executive officer.
