Mohamed Shaafy, a photographer and prominent figure in local volleyball, has been appointed Manager of the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM)’s Director of marketing and promotion.

Shaafy had been in the front seat on preparations for the International Football Federation (FIVB) Women’s Championship’s Central Qualifying rounds.

VAM president Mohamed Latheef had confirmed this to RaajjeMV. VAM had also changed the head coach and deputy coaches for the national men’s team to Mohamed Sharaf and Mohamed Saajid, respectively.

There have been speculations about conflict within the VAM as well, from the Executive Committee to reports of discord towards Latheef, primarily claims of constant decision making without referring to the committee.

 However, Latheef has since commented against the speculations.
