Former President Mohamed Nasheed is to travel to the southern city of Addu on Tuesday.

Nasheed, who returned to the Maldives this week after years of living in exile, was to travel to the city on Saturday.

However, the visit was delayed due to turbulent weather – which caused a flooding issue – in parts of Addu.

Addu is to be Nasheed’s first stop out of the capital after having returned to the Maldives. Maldives’ southernmost atoll has had a large following of the Maldivian Democratic Party, since its inception.
