Mariya Ahmed Didi, the spokesperson of president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has urged state employees to protect state documents from destruction.

Speaking at a press conference held by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Tuesday, Mariya highlighted that destroying state documents is a huge crime.

Addressing rumors that documents at some state administrations are being destroyed, Mariya urged state employees to use their phones to get evidence of it and file complaints.

At the press conference, she also said that they are now preparing for the transfer of power and thanked those who have supported their reform efforts.
