EC asks MDP to ensure congress is held in adherence to 'Maldivian laws'
EC has advised MDP to be in strict accordance to law in preparing for and holding their congress
The party’s congress is to be held at Ukulhas island on Saturday.
The Elections Commission of the Maldives (EC) has advised the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to be in strict accordance to law in preparing for and holding their congress.
EC said in a post on their official twitter account that they have asked MDP to do so, adding that the congress must also be in adherence to the party’s policies.
The tweet translates to, ‘the Elections Commission has asked MDP to ensure that their congress is held in accordance to the laws of the Maldives and policies derived from as well as the party’s own policies’.
The party’s congress is to be held at Ukulhas island on Saturday.
