The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has filed complaints regarding the voter’s list for the upcoming presidential elections.
The party’s complaints primarily have to do with the list not having the national identity card numbers of individuals eligible to vote, a point of concerned they had noted earlier as well.
On Monday, MDP officials met with the Elections Commission and conveyed a number of concerns over the commission’s voters list.
In addition to this, they expressed concerns regarding the process of filing complaints pertaining to the list.
The Elections Commission also announced on Monday that they had received 34 complaints, including the list having names of underage and deceased individuals.
