Jumhooree Party\'s council member Dr. Abdulla Mausoom

Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has announced that he will be running for Jumhooree Party (JP)’s vice presidency.

Dr. Mausoom, who is currently JP’s council member, made the announcement via Twitter on Wednesday.

In the Twitter post, he asked for support and said that he will work together with JP members to bring the party to ‘the next level’.

He had previously been the tourism minister and the MP for Kelaa and was also in the committee that drafted the new Constitution.

Before signing onto JP, he was the deputy leader of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP).
