Former Attorney General Husnu Suood has said that an administration he supports should be able to nullify the Anti-Terrorism Act within its first 90 days.

In a tweet on Monday, Suood said that the anti-terrorism laws are only used as a political weapon.

He added that the anti-terrorism laws are not being used to punish actual terrorist acts.

In another tweet, Husnu Suood said that an administration he supports should stop issuing charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act and pardon the political prisoners on the first day.

Numerous opposition political leaders have been sentenced to prison under the Anti-Terrorism Act while others are still undergoing court trials.
