US Ambassador visits RaajjeTV

Atul Keshap, US Ambassador to Maldives and Sri Lanka, visited RaajjeTV on Wednesday.
He was greeted at the TV station by Managing Director Ahmed Saleem and COO Hussain Fiyaz Moosa.
During his visit, the Ambassador also met with the RaajjeTV and RaajjeMV staff and gave them some words of encouragement.
He was also given a tour of the TV station and was gifted a special pen by MD Saleem on behalf of all the RaajjeTV employees.
Ambassador Keshap also gave an exclusive interview to RaajjeTV in which he talked about the current political situation in Maldives and also the close relationship between Maldives and the US.
Keshap was accompanied to RaajjeTV by other senior US embassy officials.
On Tuesday, Keshap hosted a special Ramadan breakfast (iftar) at Hotel Jen.
Those in attendance included prominent government officials, senior members of ruling and opposition parties, the families of political detainees including former First Lady Nasreena Ibrahim, journalists, civil society members, as well as the families of abducted journalist Ahmed Rilwan and murdered blogger Yameen Rasheed.
The Ambassador’s term is set to expire this year. He will be replaced by the current US Ambassador to Nepal, Alaina Teplitz.
