The Maldives Police Service has arrested an individual suspected of being involved in a recent theft of tourist staying at a resort in Kaafu atoll.
The 27-year-old was arrested in an operation carried out by officers of the Guraidhoo Police Station, on 3rd June.
Officers found cash at the suspect’s address, which amount to: USD 1,200, 1,500 (about USD 97), and € 120. Police believe the suspect is responsible for the theft and have returned the money.
The Kaafu atoll magistrate court has remanded the individual by a period of 13 days.
