115kg of drugs found on Iranian vessel aground in Innafinolhu
Shifan said 15.8kg of drugs were found in Uligamu on Thursday night, 300g were found in Mulhadhoo on June 1, 380g were found in Ihavandhoo on June 2, and 4.2kg were found in two uninhabited islands

115kg of drugs were found on the Iranian vessel that ran aground in HA. Innafinolhu on Thursday, said the police service.

At a press conference on Sunday, Police Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan said 14 types of drugs have washed ashore on the nearby islands.

Shifan said 15.8kg of drugs were found in Uligamu on Thursday night, 300g were found in Mulhadhoo on June 1, 380g were found in Ihavandhoo on June 2, and 4.2kg were found in two uninhabited islands.

He said that the crew consisted of one Pakistani and seven Iranians who were all positive for drugs. One of them was injured during their attempt to set the boat ablaze after being found.

He also said that they received report of the boat at 9:20pm and that when officers arrived at the scene at 10:45pm, the fire was set already.

He added that the evidence so far does not indicate that the boat was bringing in drugs to the Maldives, adding that they are working with the relevant international authorities to solve the case.
