Kairu Lhathuththu (Kairey), who was reputed to be the biggest supporter of New Radiant Sports Club, the local football team with the biggest fan base, passed away.

Kairey passed away on Wednesday afternoon in his wife's island, Ungoofaaru of Raa atoll. Even though he was from the capital city, Male', he spent his last years there. 

He was reputed as the biggest supporter of New Radiant NRSC, as the individual was a regular spectator at the football club's matches held at Galolhu football stadium. Kairey was the unofficial leader on the northern steps of the stadium which is understood to be the area for New Radiant's supporters.

The local football club dedicated a Facebook post to the individual upon his passing. 

'Deeply saddened to hear of the passing away of our beloved supporter Kairey. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus', the post read. 

Meanwhile many members from the Maldivian football family mourns Kairey's death.
