Heavy showers are expected across the country

Regions across the Maldives will experience heavy showers and thunderstorms this Friday, the Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has said.

The MET Office said on Thursday that heavy showers are expected across the country, from 8:00pm on Thursday to 8:00pm on Friday.

Seas are expected to be slightly rough and winds will yet gust at normal speeds, at five to 15 miles per hour, the MET Office said.

Maldives is currently experiencing its ‘Hulhangu’ monsoon season, characterized by hot winds blowing from the south west and short showers.
