Former President Mohamed Nasheed has so far met with residents of 13 islands via video conference during his Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) primary elections campaign.

In an interview with RaajjeMV on Skype, Nasheed said that he had asked the island residents on their opinions and answered their questions.

Nasheed’s first video conference was with his supporters in capital city Male’ and since Saturday has done video conferences in Haa Alifu atoll Kelaa, Filladhoo, Baarah, Thakandhoo, Ihavandhoo as well as Addu City’s Maradhoo, Feydhoo, Mara-Feydhoo, and Hulhumeedhoo. He also took calls from Raa Dhuvaafaru, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, and Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah.

Nasheed has been bringing his “Jazeera Raees” or “Island President” campaign to islands across the country since the launching ceremony on Friday night in Addu City’s Hithadhoo. The campaign in Haa Alifu atoll was launched in Dhidhdhoo on Saturday night.

MDP’s primary election is to be held on May 30. The party will be placing its ballot boxes in all inhabited Maldivian islands, Sri Lanka’s Colombo and Kandy, India’s Trivandrum and Bangalore, as well as Malaysia and London.
