Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader and Member of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim said that the Maldivian people must cease the current political situation and remain steadfast to their ideals. 

While speaking through a video call at the inauguration of 'Heyvalla JP' campaign initiated to increase the number of members in Jumhooree Party, Qasim stated that the party welcomes people interested in a political career and that the party's structure includes various levels of political positions to pursue. 

He also announced that the national congress of JP will be held after Ramadan while requesting as many people to join the party before that. Furthermore, he mentioned that a well-known political figure will be joining JP by 20th of May. 

'I won't say who it is just yet. The individual will join before 20th', said Qasim. 

Additionally, he celebrated the party's victories and called people to join the party to make it more impactful in benefitting the people and the community's development.

Speaking on the current political condition of the country, asim said that Elections Commission has dismissed 12 opposition parliament members (MPs) unlawfully and that therefore he does not believe the aforementioned MPs have actually lost their seats. He also mentioned the criticality of the current political environment and urged the opposition to strengthen their work towards change. 

While highlighting Malaysia's newly elected President Dr. Mahatir Mohamed's success, the parliamentarian mentioned that the Maldivian people should acquire wisdom from and gain motivation to continue to work hard.
