The Maamigili International Port was officially opened on Wednesday.

The port was inaugurated in a ceremony by economic minister Mohamed Saeed.

At the ceremony, minister Saeed said President Yameen has the courage to speak on behalf of citizens at great personal danger and that there is no else like him.

Minister Saeed said that Maldives has a large oceanic and economic territory even though the leaders seen in the previous 30 years made the country seem like it has few resources.

He said that it was in the national interest to help get President Yameen elected for a second term in this year’s presidential election and that he will be elected for the sake of the country regardless of the opinions of the joint opposition.

The current administration finds the solution to every national problem and that President Yameen is not the type to focus on certain kinds of issues.

Maamigili residents held a feast for the first boat that docked at the port after the inauguration, “Bonthi-2”.
