AP suggests items to include in Joint Opposition manifesto
The seven items were compiled by AP’s committee assigned to give advice to the Joint Opposition’s committee
The items include religion, citizen safety and autonomy, eliminating state corruption and security in the Indian Ocean

Adhaalath Party (AP) has proposed seven items to include in the Joint Opposition parties’ manifesto for their unity government.

The seven items were compiled by AP’s committee assigned to give advice to the Joint Opposition’s committee.

The seven items are: Not giving any religion other than Islam legitimacy in the Maldives, establishing justice, guaranteeing national security, empowering the citizens, stopping corruption, increasing economic entrepreneurship, and upholding the citizens’ best interest on foreign policy.

In the proposal, AP said that the Islamic system should be upheld and no other religion should be recognized in the country. Also, every citizen should receive justice regardless of political affiliation and that security forces and state institutions should work for the citizens’ benefit.

Entrepreneurship should be encouraged in the atolls and citizens should be given full autonomy, the party said, adding that the abuse of state resources should be stopped and a framework should be established for the equal distribution of wealth. Emphasis should be given to safety in the Indian Ocean, it added.
