Dhaalu Atoll Council Vice President Ibrahim Nasir has signed on with the main opposition party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Nasir, who was elected as an independent to Meedhoo constituency, signed into MDP on Friday evening at the party’s campaign site in Meedhoo.
After signing, Nasir handed over his registration form to MDP Vice Chairperson Ali Niyaz.
MDP has given Nasir a warm welcome after his initiation and vowed to reinvigorate party activities in Dhaalu Atoll in the coming days, results of which will be seen in this year’s presidential election, promised the MDP.

Senior party members were present during the signing ceremony including MDP spokesperson and MP Imthiyaz Fahmy, and MP Mohamed Falah.
