All EU recommendations welcomed, but 'religious freedom difficult to accept'
Nasheed said this in a post on his Twitter account
The report put forth several observations on the Maldivian electoral process

The European Union’s statement on Thursday calling on the Maldivian government to ensure several rights for its citizens is completely welcomed, save for the call to grant religious freedom, says former President Mohamed Nasheed.

Nasheed said this in a post on his Twitter account, following the European Union’s election follow-up mission’s report on Thursday. The report put forth several observations on the Maldivian electoral process.

Thursday’s report further said that neither the government nor the People’s Majlis nor the opposition have sought to address the issue of electoral reforms’ and that ‘progress was limited in the implementation of the recommendations’.
